Jr. Minor League is a step up in competitive play from the Instructional League. While the emphasis continues to be placed on skill development, the competitive level is increased as kids will pitch for the first time, and base-stealing is allowed. Batting order is round-robin, positions will be rotated and each player is guaranteed to play at least four of the six innings per game.
Practices begin in mid to late April. Teams play approximately 20 games, 2 to 3 games per week. The season will conclude with a play-off tournament in early July.
Ten year olds will have the opportunity to try out for tournament teams. Additional fees will be required for tournament team players.
