2015 Big League Tryout Results Round One : 13-14-15 yr olds

Below you will find the 2nd round tryout times/locations for the AAA/AA and AA/A pools at the 13, 14 and 15 yr old levels.

 

Based on our experience over the last several winters, we have decided to conduct our 2nd round tryouts in the Vadnais Dome. This is not optimal but Minnesota weather is seldom cooperative this time of year and this is our best option to insure we have an ability to complete team formation.

  • AAA/AA Pool Information
    • Players listed in the “AAA/AA” pool, represent the top 18 Hamline scored players at that age group.
    • There will be an additional tryout held at the date and time listed below. Following the second tryout, the “AAA” coach and a minimum of two SAYB evaluators (who do not have child at this age group and have experience coaching at this level) will validate Hamline ratings and determine the 11/12 players from the 18 candidates to participate during the 2015 season on the “AAA” team.
    • All players in the AAA/AA pool must attend the 2nd tryout session. Those not attending will be assigned to the North Star League.
    • Players who attend the tryout session and are not selected to play on the “AAA” team will automatically be assigned to the “AA” team.

 

  • AA/A Pool Information
    • At the 13 and 14 yr old levels, players listed in the “AA/A” pool represent players Hamline scored between #19 and #42 making up a total of 24 players.
    • At the 15 yr old level, all players who attended the Hamline tryout session were invited to return for a second round of tryouts.
    • There will be an additional tryout held at the date and time listed below. Following this second tryout, the selected coach and a minimum of two SAYB evaluator (who do not have child at this age group and have experience coaching at this level) will select players to participate at the “AA” level during the 2014 season.
    • The number of teams at each age and level has not been determined at this time. 

Players not listed below will not be included in either the AAA/AA or the AA/A pool and will be assigned to the North Star League program. Teams will be formed and communicated in early April, shortly after the completion of the 2nd tryout sessions.

13 yr old Big League Info

It is anticipated that teams will be comprised of 11-12 players per team. The Executive committee reserves the right to expand or contract the number of players assigned to a team.

At this level there will be either 1-AAA team 2-AA teams or 1-AAA, 1-AA and 1-A tournament team. This decision will be made following the skills demonstrated during the 2nd tryout session.

13 yr old AAA/AA pool

Tryout to be held on Sunday 3/29, please arrive at 12:00PM for registration and warm up. The tryout will begin at approximately 12:15PM. We anticipate the total session to take approximately 1.5 hours.

To be held on Sunday 3/29 please arrive at 1:45PM for registration and warm up. The tryout will begin at 2:00PM It is anticipated that the total session to take approximately 1.5 hours.

14 yr old Big League Info

Similar to prior seasons, we have invited all 15 yr old players to return for the 2nd evaluation.

It is anticipated that teams will be comprised of 11-12 players per team. The Executive committee reserves the right to expand or contract the number of players assigned to a team.

At this level there will be 1-AAA team 1-AA teams or 1-AAA, and 1-A tournament team. This decision will be made following the skills demonstrated during the 2nd tryout session.

15 yr old AAA/AA pool

To be held on Sunday, 3/29 please arrive at 7:00PM for registration. The tryout will begin at 7:15PM. We anticipate the total session to take approximately 1:45.

Those not wishing to participate at either the AAA or AA level do not need to attend
