Player's birth date must be between May 1, 2004 and August 31, 2007 and meet residency requirements for eligibility.
In the American League emphasis is balanced between player development and winning.
Teams are formed based on tryout scores and geography.
Batting is round-robin.
To be eligible for National League, the player must participate in the tryout process, and be selected based on their performance. If the player cannot complete the tryout process or chooses not to participate they will be placed on an American League team.
A high level of commitment is expected of National League players, who will play two to three games per week and practice at least two times per week.
All 11- and 12-year-olds have batting and fielding tryouts in February with an optional pitching and catching tryout as well later in the day (times will be posted shortly). Please see the SAYB calendar for tryout times and dates.
An additional fee of approximately $150 will be required for each player selected to play on the tournament teams.
